Historic Lahaina Walking Tour

Enjoy an informative and scenic walking tour of one of Maui’s most scenic and historically important towns – Lahaina.

Lahaina offers glimpses into every era of recorded history – from the days when it was the command post of Kamehameha the Great and his fleet of 800 canoes, the whaling era, missionary days and the introduction and impact of christianity, to the sugarcane plantation era, all the way up to modern times.

We’ll visit some of the historic sites and interesting curiosities in Lahaina, including Baldwin Home Museum, ruins of the first Western-style building in all of Hawaii, the birthing stone of royal Hawaiian women, the old prison with walls made out of blocks of coral, and the royal complex at Moku’ula.

Lunch will be at a popular local restaurant nearby.

Cost:
$150 (1-3 persons) for a 3-hour tour. Double that for an all day tour (up to 8 hours).

Pick up and Drop off :
We begin and end at the Lahaina Public Library.

Tour Vehicle:
This is primarily a walking tour, however if you wish to expand the tour to include nearby sites, we will tour in a red Subaru Forester (4-doors, air conditioning, all wheel drive). It can comfortably seat three visitors with each having a window seat. A fourth visitor can be added if desired. I prefer to tour in a normal local vehicle so we can access areas of the island where tourist cars and tour busses are not encouraged.
